Mrs. Marriott was born and raised in the Kansas City area and only left for a few years to attend and graduate from Kansas State University. After wanting to become a teacher since childhood, she graduated from KSU with her degree in elementary and middle school science education. Throughout this time, she worked with a variety of ages and discovered how fun teaching middle school could be.
Mrs. Marriott has been a teacher in Kansas City Missouri Charter schools for 9 years, teaching middle school science for the last 6 years. The past 2 years as the middle school STEM teacher at Crossroads Academy have been very rewarding. Last year Mrs. Marriott felt great joy and pride along with her scholars through their many successes at the science fair, and having an experiment chosen to fly in space, this year we watched the experiment fly and evaluated the results. She shared in their everyday classroom accomplishments and discoveries from successfully building a parallel circuit, making solar ovens and drinking exploring macro organisms in a pond . She likes to provide the scholars with a variety of activities that bring their education further than just the classroom. Her goal is to spread her love for science and learning to all of her scholars.
